Milan, Oct. 16, 2024 – GenoGra announces the results of the collaboration launched in April 2023 with Bgenetica, aimed at evaluating and refining its genomic analysis platform. This project represented a crucial step for GenoGra in validating what has been developed to date.
In the first year of the collaboration, Bgenetica provided a detailed report after using the initial version of the platform. The report confirmed the value of the solution in facilitating several stages of analysis, including pangenome creation and investigation, while highlighting critical issues and suggestions for future improvements.
GenoGra launched an updated version of the platform in April 2024, implementing feedback received from Bgenetica, as well as further developments planned by the internal team. Subsequent testing showed significant improvements in both performance and interaction with the platform, but also highlighted new areas for optimization, which the GenoGra team has successfully worked on leading up to the current version.
The greatest achievement of this collaboration has been the empowerment of medical geneticists in secondary analysis, a process that traditionally considerable bioinformatics expertise. This accomplishment highlights the potential of the GenoGra platform as an enabling technology, simplifying the genomic analysis process and paving the way for greater scalability, especially for population studies.
GenoGra’s next goal is to compare the current platform with other existing software solutions for secondary analysis, through a pilot project already started with the University of Milan in addition to further collaborations under negotiation. In these new tests, the contribution of bioinformaticians will be crucial to validate the multiple functionalities through an accurate comparison with technologies currently in use.
