Guido Walter Di Donato

Chief Executive Officer

Guido is the creator of the technology behind GenoGra’s platform and serves as CEO. After graduating with honors in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and Bioengineering at the UIC, Guido completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with Oracle Labs. Involved in research activities since 2016, he has gained experience in computational genomics and high-performance graph analysis, and is the author of 20+ international publications and two patents. Guido has 8 years of experience in team and project management, gained during his work at NECSTLab, UIC, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Passionate about innovation and the dramatic arts, over the years, he has developed a range of essential “hard” and “soft” skills for an entrepreneur in the deep-tech field.

Guglielmo Bruno

Chief Technology Officer

Guglielmo studied Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and spent two years in research focused on bioinformatics and pangenomics, with a particular emphasis on graph-based genomic analysis. Passionate about biology and emerging genomic technologies, he leads a team of talented developers in shaping GenoGra’s core product and driving the integration of innovative workflows that leverage pangenomics to unlock new study possibilities. He is highly committed to offering a platform with outstanding capabilities and performance but still intuitive and user-friendly, making advanced genomic tools accessible to an ever-growing community.

Alessandro Vingione

Chief Operating Officer

Alessandro leads GenoGra’s commercial strategy, company finance, cash management, and grant applications, while also serving on the board. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Management with a major in Corporate Finance from Bocconi University, where his thesis explored the genomics market. Joining GenoGra as a late founder, but before revenue, product, or investors, he helped shape the company’s business foundations and strategic direction. Before GenoGra, his client-facing role at Jakala exposed him to diverse industries and executive-level stakeholders, experience he now leverages to support GenoGra’s highly technical team with a clear business perspective.

Mirko Coggi

Chief Research Officer

Mirko graduated in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico Di Milano and is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. His Ph.D. focused on developing new and ad hoc protection and valorization strategies for inventions in the IT domain, with a particular emphasis on graph-based computational genomics. An active member of the R&D team since the idea’s inception, he has about five and a half years of experience in accelerating graph-based genomic computations and is the author of 4 international publications and two patent applications. Mirko is committed to defining GenoGra’s research directions and protecting novel IP with proper strategies.

Alberto Zeni

Alberto graduated in Computer Engineering and completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. His research focuses on developing methodologies and tools for accelerating genomic computations through heterogeneous systems with multiple hardware accelerators (GPUs and FPGAs). Engaged in research since 2017, he is the author of 15+ international publications (h-index of 8) and five patent applications. Alberto has 8 years of experience in accelerating genomic processes on heterogeneous computational architectures and 6 years of experience in team and project management, developed during his work at NECSTLab, LBNL, AMD Xilinx, NVIDIA, MIT, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Meta - where he now serves as AI/HPC Systems Research Scientist.

Marco Domenico Santambrogio

Scientific Advisor

Marco is a full professor of Computer Science at Politecnico Di Milano, specialized in high-performance computer architectures. Author of 400+ international publications and 10+ patent applications, Marco has 20+ years of experience in high-performance computer architectures and team and project management, developed during his work at the Politecnico di Milano, UIC, Northwestern University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Head of NECSTLab and a serial deep-tech entrepreneur, he is a strategic asset for GenoGra both in training and onboarding highly specialized young professionals in the field of high-performance genomics, and in networking, thanks to a dense network of contacts in the academic and industrial worlds.

Chief Marketing Officer

Serena leverages cross-industry experience and a data-driven approach, building strong partnerships with a customer-centric mindset. She bridges science and market by translating complex genomic technologies into meaningful value and expanding access to genomics.

Daniele Casciani

Full Stack Developer

Daniele contributes to the design and development of the company's software platform. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and has a solid background in software engineering practices, with a keen interest in emerging technologies.

Sofia Sisti

Bioinformatic Product Specialist

Sofia brings a strong background in biotechnology and molecular research. She earned her PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine from Università "Vita-Salute" San Raffaele and gained research experience applying omics technologies, molecular profiling, and biological data interpretation to address complex scientific questions.

Beatrice Branchini

HPC Engineer

Beatrice designs high-performance methods to significantly reduce genomics analysis computing time. She is also a PhD Candidate in Information Technology at Politecnico di Milano, where she previously earned her degree in Biomedical Engineering.

Paolo Galparoli

IT & Dev Ops Engineer

Paolo brings a solid background in system engineering and IT infrastructure. He graduated in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and gained professional experience working on datacenter modernization, virtualization, security and cloud automation.

Leonardo De Grandis

AI Researcher

Leonardo is pursuing a PhD in Information Technology at Politecnico di Milano. In collaboration with GenoGra, he focuses on applying graph machine learning techniques to multi-omic data, aiming to improve the accuracy and interpretation of genomic variants.

GenoGra has been awarded funding under the Regional ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) program.

This support will equips the company with the resources to finalize the development of its software platform, define and implement its go-to-market strategy, and strengthen its marketing and communication capabilities. The project also includes the achievement of internationally recognized ISO quality certifications.

Through this 12-month initiative, GenoGra is laying the foundations for the official market launch of its product, consolidating its technological and organizational growth path.
